In this project I was assigned the decoration of four pairs of dead pointe shoes to match gowns of greenery for a Greenways Nashville charity event.

Through the month of September I dyed, painted, hand embroidered and decorated all shoes by from start to finish to make sure they were ready to wear in time for the event.

At each stage of the process I bore in mind the safety and comfort of the dancers. I ensured the platform of the boxes were clear in case they would need to stand on pointe for photos. I also made sure that even if the plastic foliage needed to be removed at any stage of the event that it could be done quickly without damaging the shoes, and that the hand embroidery and painting would be decoration enough if it had to stand alone.
