Hello, I’m Christana Jones Alford, a mixed-media artist and sewist from Clarksville, TN. I got my BFA in Studio Art from Austin Peay State University in 2019, focusing on textile and performance art. Through my studies, I sought to gain as many skills as possible, dabbling in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and ceramics, as well as attending costume design and theater productions classes from the neighboring program.

Since my graduation, I did work as a monogrammer. Additionally, from 2021-2024 I have worked as a stitcher, and was later promoted to Shoe Manager for Nashville Ballet. In these roles not only did I aid in building, repairing and maintaining costumes, but I also maintained a yearly budget of up to $80,000, tracked and distributed company and second company allotments, made expense reports, and created yearly shoe budget proposals.

My greatest goal as an artist is to capture the beauty of flow through the structure of textiles. My ultimate motto in my work is to be flexible, and to never present anything that I wouldn’t be proud enough to put my name on.
